Around 20% of rear end accidents

Around 20% of rear end accidents result in a whiplash injury.

The incidence of neck injury to front seat passengers is higher (16 per cent) than for rear seat passengers (10 per cent) in rear end collisions, and front-seat passengers fare worse for neck sprains (19 per cent) than drivers (15 per cent). (What a Pain in the Neck ? dotpharmacy.co.uk)

A whiplash injury is caused when the car driving behind you crashes into your rear end. The impact of the two cars colliding throws your body forward so that your neck and shoulders are under your head; your head extends forward and tips down a little. When you slam your foot on the break your head and body fly back in the opposite direction. This vigorous process happens extremely quickly and often results in an injury.

Many people suffer from neck pain or tenderness after an accident but find that these symptoms disappear relatively quickly.

If it’s a new business,

If it's a new business, you'll have to show your proposed business plan, your marketing research and projected costs, as well as anticipated income figures, with a summary for each year, over at least a three year period. It'll be advantageous to you to base your cost estimates high, and your income projections on minimal returns. This will enable you to "ride through" those extreme "ups and downs" inherent in any beginning business. You should also describe what makes your business unique---how it differs form your competition and the opportunities for expansion or secondary products. This prospectus will have to state precisely what you're offering the investor in return for the use of his money.

But, before you even begin pointing,

But, before you even begin pointing, clicking, and eyeballing these shiny new toys; take a step back and determine just how much car you can afford to own and operate.

The conventional wisdom is not more than 20% of your monthly income? your net (take home) pay? not your gross pay. And by the way, while you?re doing your figuring on this 20% monthly cash outlay; make sure you include all the cars you own.

Regardless of whether you don?t even pay rent or own your home outright, stand firm on the 20% rule.

On your way to calculating your 20% budget, in addition to the purchase price, be sure to factor in any down payment and/or your trade-in value.

If you arrive very late

If you arrive very late into the city and speak little (or no) Spanish, don?t get yourself into a dither or risk any danger tromping around the area late at night. You don?t want to run into any of the ?late-night? people who frequent the vicinity. You can just pop right across the street and book a room for the night here (staff speaks English) and do your search in earnest for a more moderately-priced room the next day. Don?t run the gauntlet of undesirables (including taxi drivers) late at night here ? especially without a solid command of Spanish. The $40 USD you?ll pay is well worth your health and safety if it comes to that.

A growing number of U.S.

A growing number of U.S. states are formalizing electronic pedigree requirements in order to comply with the FDA's anti-counterfeiting initiatives.

A new two-phase RFID authentication platform introduced by Texas Instruments (TI) and VeriSign should make it easier for pharmaceutical manufacturers, suppliers, distributors and pharmacies to meet the FDA drug pedigree requirements. It may also make it easier for consumers to accept RFID technology in their prescription packaging.

Mikael Ahlund, director of RFID healthcare for TI, says that the platform is unique in providing two layers of protection against counterfeiting. The model enhances system security by digitally certifying the authenticity of 13.56 MHz RFID tags via a cryptographic Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) available through VeriSign. "The beauty of this approach is that because the elements for the private key are preprogrammed into the tag and the reader is preprogrammed for the public key, the authentication is actually done off-network," says Ahlund.

"We're using multiple layers of protection," says Graham Gillen, senior product manager for VeriSign.

Sprint 4G Mobilizing Federal Agencies Now

Sprint 4G Mobilizing Federal Agencies Now

Business Wire, Sept 01, 2010

  • Federal agencies are tapping Sprint 4G to strengthen security,
enhance essential services and optimize efficient use of government
    resources
  • Delivering the first and ever-expanding wireless 4G network from a
national carrier, Sprint 4G is currently available in 48 markets; soon
    to include Washington, D.C.
  • Sprint 4G available now on Sprints Networx Enterprise or Federal
    Supply Schedule 70 contracts

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. -- Whether it involves mission-critical security operations, time-sensitive
disaster response, life-enhancing health services or more feature-rich
and cost-efficient public services, federal government agencies are
taking turbo-charged 4G technology from Sprint (S:NYSE) and putting it
to work in productive and innovative ways for U.S. citizens.

Dozens of federal agencies have already certified Sprint 4G devices for
use on the Sprint network, with deployments completed or underway to
support an impressive array of applications across the United States. By
combining Sprint 4G with the resources and expertise of its extensive
partner ecosystem, Sprint tailors 4G solutions to the specialized
requirements of individual agencies.

Two key applications include:

Situational Awareness:
Federal investigators, law enforcement and defense professionals rely on
Sprint 4G mobile broadband for blazing fast speeds that wirelessly
enable mobile command center environments. Sprint 4G supports a variety
of applications that arm them with critical information to better
communicate situational information. These applications include mobile
high-definition video surveillance, location-based solutions, laptop
connectivity for individual agents, video streaming or connections
to/from handheld devices and the transmission of large images and video
from target areas.

Healthcare: Healthcare
administrators in federally-managed facilities are turning to Sprint 4G
to provide expanded mobility for caregivers. For example, medical staff
can view high-resolution medical images on the HD screen of HTC EVOTM
4G or view patient records and lab reports on 4G-connected wireless
tablet PCs while gaining increased mobility so they can spend more time
with patients.

In these and many other instances, Sprint 4G makes it possible for
agencies to enhance their responsiveness to public needs by harnessing
the power of emerging communications technology all while
simultaneously containing government spending by working within tighter
budgets. Sprint makes it feasible to meet these crucial requirements by
delivering turnkey applications and support, in combination with 4G
download speeds that are up to 10 times faster than 3G.1
Sprint was the first national wireless carrier to launch wireless 4G,
and remains the only national carrier offering the mobile broadband
service today.

Sprints 4G leadership has enabled federal agencies to deploy 4Gs
ultra-fast capability on an accelerated schedule. As a result, federal
agencies and their clients are realizing immediate benefits in
supporting high-value applications, said Bill White, vice president of
Federal Programs for Sprint. This ability to offer dynamic 4G well
ahead of the industry curve builds on Sprints two decades of experience
in providing innovative, dependable services to federal agencies.

Sprints 4G network has been serving customers since 2008 and is
available today to customers in 48 markets in cities like Philadelphia,
Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas and Seattle. Sprints aggressive expansion
continues into more major cities and customers in parts of Boston, New
York City and Washington, D.C

I didn’t see

I didn't see a link to their "apply in seconds" application, but I could watch a demo. (I wonder how long that would take? It didn't say.)

There were 14 paragraphs with boldface text explaining how people make money with the product, how it's the best one out there, and for a fee (which is supposed to prove YOU are sincere), you can make so much money per month that all your dreams will come true.

Nowhere on the homepage did it say how you would do this. It did mention the product name itself, repeatedly. (Probably for the sake of search engines, not you.)

Nowhere on the homepage did it say why this company could pay that much money to anyone, regardless of their background, work history, age or location.

Clothing, furniture, and other items which may

Clothing, furniture, and other items which may have traces of DNA, are now routinely used for obtaining DNA evidence. The technology is so sensitive that it allows identification of a person by analysing DNA collected from a fingerprint left on the surface of an object or from a single hair left at a crime scene.

When a crime scene sample or a sample from a suspect is analysed, a DNA profile is produced. A DNA profile is a digitalised representation of an individual?s genotype with respect to the DNA markers tested. In the UK, all crime scene DNA profiles together with those of all suspects and arrestees for any recordable offence are deposited into a National DNA Database (NDNAD), which is the world?s first criminal DNA database. As of 2004, the UK national DNA database held over two and a half million DNA profiles collected from suspects and convicted criminals which is estimated to be about 40% of UK criminally active population as well as more than 200,000 crime scene samples. UK Police use the NDNAD as an investigative tool to help solving a wide range of crimes including murder, rape, sexual assault, robbery, terrorism, burglary and arson and have almost doubled their clearance rate for volume crimes such as house burglary, and motor vehicle offences.

All that you need to

All that you need to know is what chords to play and how to create the broken chord sound. Knowing the chords you will play is the easy part. Creating the broken chord sound can present some with problems. These problems can be easily overcome if we start out by using a special chord structure known as the open position chord.

Here, both hands are used to create a modern sounding seventh chord. The left hand gets the root, fifth, and seventh of the chord while the right takes care of the third and seventh as well. With this chord structure, the beginner can create that beautiful lush sound right away!

We can begin in the left hand and go up to play what is called an ascending piano run, or we can begin in the right and go down. We can alternate fingers back and forth to create different textures and use the notes under our fingers to explore a whole new world of broken chord possibilities.

For example, in the lesson Forest's Edge, we use open position chords in the Key of B Major to create an ascending broken chord run.

When I was running through my

When I was running through my inheritance by travel and adventure (never regretting a moment of it since it affords me priceless memories and subjects to share as a writer), I used to send "colorful" letters and cards to family and friends which now serve me as a jumpy journal, just like looking through old stuff.

Most of what I'll use to post here were sent to my friend Steve Gwinn in Toledo, Ohio who is now dead, but he saved all my letters and cards which I found in his closet. Reading them was bittersweet.

The last time I saw Steve was when he and another friend dropped me off at the Detroit International Airport to leave again for Israel in 1995. I gave him a hug and kiss goodbye, without a clue it would be the last.
